Three creative writing mats to inspire pupils across the whole school and give shape to their ideas.
The Story Maker's Writing Mats are three sets of individual pupil mats for Years 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6. Specially designed for use in guided and independent writing sessions, each A3 mat is beautifully illustrated with a range of fantasy and contemporary characters and settings to inspire young
writers.

The front of each A3 mat focuses on picking essential story ingredients (eg characters, settings etc) and also includes story ideas within specific genres.

Meanwhile, the back of the mat has pointers on how to structure a story (eg draw a story map or story board, or
use a simple Story Mountain pattern) as well as useful grammar and stylistic points. Both sides contain invaluable
tips and word lists, and help children gather their ideas, plan, tell and write a story.
